How to use this resource:

The geysers page is a dynamic image map.  Each geyser or water-based feature is outlined in red.  Clicking the hot spot will take you to a separate page for that feature. If you have a slow Internet connection, it may be much faster to open the links in a new tab or window.  This will prevent reloading the large image map when navigating from page to page. This is a very image-intensive resource.  Because of the varied nature of the images, I have created a set of icons to indicate what you will see.

MONOCHROME - this is an image that has no color information.  It may be a composite from many parts of the spectrum or it may contain image data from more than one frequency.  The sources will be noted.

FALSE COLOR - this image is a representation that may be adjusted to appear as natural as possible, or it may be a simple illustration for technical purpose.

BEST COLOR - this image will most likely contain spectral data that matches what the human eye expects.  Usually it will be true color (as close as can be gotten) or it will use the best approximation.

STEREO IMAGE - these are usually cross-eyed images, and many will be monochrome.  It is usually not possible to make true color stereo images, due to the filter data available.  These will be approximations.

STEREO ANAGLYPH - these will require red/blue glasses to produce a 3D effect.  I will only produce monochrome anaglyphs to try to preserve data integrity.  Red filter data is for the left eye.

NASA/JPL LINK - this will link directly to the source data.  With it you can verify the provenance of the image sources and that nothing has been added to or removed from the image data.
