Opportunity Sol 114 Images

Color images assembled from the raw data

BACK

Sol 114 thumbnails from Endurance Crater's rim - counterclockwise from Sol 105 position.  These images were withheld for 7 months before release.  They show a complex and rich geyser field at the top of Endurance Crater with many water flow channels and erosion paths.  There is a geyser under nearly every stone slab in the image.  More image data is available and I will add images as I process them.

I have placed the images in their approximate location in the visual field.  The images do not fit perfectly due to parallax but they could be edited to make a single image.  If there are requests for it, I will assemble a full-scale color image of the entire region.  Note that this resulting image would be a few megabytes in size.

All raw images are located here at the NASA/JPL website.  Color is from L2, L5, and L7.

I will mark out individual geysers in the frames shortly.
